BEES: 101, longevity, stings, habitat

Natalia_photoToday Natalia Bjorklund, UNL Extension Educator and PhD candidate talks about Bee 101, the longevity of bees, bee stings, and bee habitats.

I learned a ton just from these questions!

In the days to come I will continue to add videos about various questions such as the importance of bees, concerns about bees, bees and GMOs, and more.

Bee-utiful Honey…Fun Fact Friday

Last night a neighbor brought over several 3-pound jars of honey from bee hives on their ranch – what a treat!

A hive of bees flies over 55,000 miles to bring you one pound of honey!

A honey bee can fly 15 miles per hour. Honey bee workers must visit 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey!
